Pavo foal milk

Pavo foal milk is an excellent alternative to mare's milk. It has been specially developed for foals which no longer have a mother or of which the mother does not produce enough milk.

Pavo foal milk is fully attuned to the specific composition of natural mare's milk. In this way it meets the needs of motherless foals. Foals which are reared with Pavo FoalMilk develop normally and are not inferior to foals which are simply walked by the mare.

Is cow's milk also suitable for foals? Mare's milk has a special composition with lots of sugars. Cow's milk differs greatly from mare's milk and is therefore less suitable for foals.

"Do not prepare more foal milk than what you need per half day.

• It is best to heat or keep warm the already prepared foal milk 'au bain-marie'.
• (Au bain-marie is heating in or over a hot water bath. Take a pan or bowl with a minimum capacity of 1 liter and place it in or over a larger pan of hot water. Au bain-marie heating prevents pouring or burning).
• The foal milk can also be heated in a microwave oven.

The preparation of 1 liter of foal milk goes as follows: (1 liter = 1000 ml)

• Take a pan with a capacity of at least 1 liter
• Put 300 ml cold water in it
• Add 400 ml of boiling water.
• You now have 700 ml water with a temperature of ± 60 °C
• Add 1 measuring spoon (= 100 grams) of Pavo FoalMilk powder and stir until all the foal milk powder has dissolved.
• Add 300 ml cold water while stirring. You now have 1 liter of hand-warm foal milk (temperature of ± 40 °C).

The Pavo FoalMilk has a shelf life of 1 year."
