Pavo FieldCare

Fertiliser for horse pasture

When a horse pasture is not fertilized, the quality of the turf slowly declines. A pasture can therefore slowly turn into a field of weeds. A healthy horse meadow needs good maintenance fertilisation. Pavo FieldCare was developed especially for this purpose: the ideal fertiliser for maintaining a good and healthy turf.

About Pavo FieldCare

When a horse pasture is not fertilized, the quality of the turf slowly declines. A meadow can therefore slowly turn into a field with weeds. A healthy horse meadow needs good maintenance fertilisation. Pavo FieldCare was developed especially for this purpose: the ideal fertiliser for maintaining a good and healthy turf. Pavo FieldCare contains a special nitrogen compound that is released slowly (in 2 to 3 months). The grass therefore grows evenly without the growth spurt which is undesirable for horses. Furthermore, Pavo FieldCare also contains phosphate, potassium, magnesium, sulphur and sodium, specially geared to the horse pasture.

Composition of fertiliser for horse pasture

  • 14% ENTEC nitrogen nitrate (N) from 5% nitrate nitrogen and 9% ammonium nitrogen
  • 5% Phosphoric acid anhydride (P2O5) soluble in neutral ammonium citrate
  • 10% potassium oxide (K2O) soluble in water
  • 2% Magesium oxide (MgO) water-soluble
  • 7% Water-soluble sodium oxide (Na2O)
  • 6% Water-soluble sulfur

ENTEC "Normal" fertilizers contain a nitrogen compound that is released in a few days after spreading. This causes high levels in the grass, for horses not desired!!! Horse pasture fertilizer contains a special nitrogen compound that is released slowly (in 2 to 3 months). This form of nitrogen is called ENTEC Nitrogen. ENTEC Nitrogen is made by the company BASF and is used where the nitrogen in the soil must be released slowly. What is the advantage of this ENTEC nitrogen? The grass grows well, but the levels in the grass remain low (because not all the nitrogen is released at once). Furthermore, because of the special nitrogen compound, there will be little leaching. This is good for the environment and you also need to spread less fertilizer.

In the fertilizer is not only nitrogen but also other fertilizers:

Phosphate

Phosphate is very important for the youthful growth of the roots, allowing the young grass plants to extract more nutrients from the soil. Weeds and poorer grasses are reduced by a good phosphate status

Potassium

Potassium promotes the production of carbohydrates in the grass. This gives the grass energy and promotes grass growth. Potassium is important for the firmness of the grass

Magnesium

Magnesium is an important building block for the chlorophyll. The magnesium requirement of horses is also quite high. Hence, it is important that grass contains sufficient Magnesium.

Sodium

Sodium is important for the palatability of grass. It does not promote grass growth but makes the grass extra tasty for the horses.

When can the horses go out to pasture again after spreading Pavo FieldCare?

After spreading Pavo FieldCare, it must have rained well at least once, so that the manure pellets lie nicely on the ground. If that is the case, the horses can go out to pasture again, even if you can still see grains. Depending on the amount of precipitation, the granules will have dissolved after about 2-3 weeks."
