In the feed trough of dressagehorse Fuerstenglory

In the section 'In the feed trough of...' we show you what a horse gets to eat. This time Servero Jurado López tells us about feeding his Grand Prix dressage horse Fuerstenglory.

Name of the horse: Fuerstenglory (Freddy)
Age: 12
Level:  Grand Prix
Character: Freddy is a very sweet and calm horse.

Feeding schedule during a multi-day dressage competition

05.30 a.m.: hay and 1 scoop Pavo AllSports and 1 scoop Pavo Triple P
11.30 a.m.: hay and 1 scoop Pavo AllSports and 1 scoop Pavo Ease&Excel
03.00 p.m.: 1.5 scoops Pavo SlobberMash
06.00 p.m.: hay and 1 scoop Pavo AllSports + 1 scoop Pavo Ease&Excel
10.00 p.m.: hay and 1 scoop Pavo AllSports + 1 scoop Pavo Triple P

Why choose this concentrate?
We need more energy on him, so during competition we give a lot of Pavo Triple P extra. At home he usually only eats Pavo AllSports and Pavo Ease&Excel

What do you take into account when choosing feed for this horse?
We need to check his weight, and his behaviour. And we ask ourselves, what do we need to compete? Freddy is very calm and therefore we try to give lots of energy and feed. Often, we give the Pavo SlobberMash just 1 hour before competing to be sure he gets lots of water as well.
